Who we are
AlphaFilings ("AlphaFilings", "we", "us") runs alphafilings.co. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: contact us or email support@alphafilings.co.
What we collect
- Your email address, and a name if you give one, when you join the founding list, sign in or contact us.
- Your answers on the founding list form: how you trade, what you want to track and any tickers you list. We use them to set up your account and decide what to send you.
- Your account data: your plan, watchlist, alert settings and the time you accepted our Terms.
- Billing information is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan status.
- Where you came from: if you arrive from a link with tracking tags or from another site, we remember the source for up to 90 days so we know which posts and pages bring people in.
- Usage and device information: pages visited and actions taken (for example, pressing a sign-up button), your browser type, and your IP address. We use these to run the site, measure what works, and protect it.
- Security records: failed sign-ins, unusual traffic and, for Pro accounts, attempts to screenshot or copy Pro data, which are logged against your account code. Security events are kept for about 30 days.
How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, show your watchlist, send the alerts you ask for, and handle your subscription.
- To send you emails you agreed to: founding list updates, and product news if you opted in. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand which pages, posts and features work, in aggregate.
- To protect the site and our data from abuse, scraping and fraud, and to enforce our Terms.
- To answer your messages.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers we need to run AlphaFilings, each handling data on our behalf: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Render (hosting), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error tracking, configured not to send personal data), and Google Workspace (our support inbox). We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect our rights.
Cookies and browser storage
- smt_session: keeps you signed in (essential).
- af_src: remembers where you first came from, for up to 90 days.
- PostHog analytics cookies, to understand how the site is used.
- Your browser's local storage keeps small preferences, such as your theme and, before you sign in, the stocks you starred.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open and for a reasonable time after, for billing and legal records. Founding list details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Security logs are kept for about 30 days.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails with the link in any of them, or from Account in the tracker.
- Ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete your account: contact us. Some laws, such as California's and the EU's, give you these rights formally; we honour them for everyone.
- Block or clear cookies in your browser. Signing in needs the session cookie.
Security
We use encrypted connections, limit who can access personal data, and monitor for abuse. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your information, we'll tell you as the law requires.
Children
AlphaFilings is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We'll post any update here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell account holders by email.
